Develop Skills Build Confidence Compete

Power Up Basketball provides high-quality basketball training and team opportunities for boys and girls throughout Chicago’s northwest suburbs.

Every player begins in our small-group training program. This allows athletes to build the skills, confidence, basketball IQ, and understanding of team concepts needed to compete successfully.

As players develop and demonstrate readiness, they may be placed on one of our teams if team participation is part of their goals.

Developing Players On and Off the Court

Power Up Basketball is a not-for-profit organization committed to making quality basketball instruction accessible to young athletes from every background.
Our program combines experienced coaching, structured skill development, teamwork, and competitive play. We challenge players to work hard, become better teammates, and develop habits that will benefit them both on and off the court.
Our goal is not simply to win games. We want every player to improve, build confidence, and enjoy the process of becoming a better athlete and person.

Our Programs

Small Group Skills Training

All players begin in our small-group training program, where they develop essential fundamentals, basketball IQ, confidence, and an understanding of team concepts.

Consistent training is the foundation of player development. Our focused sessions help athletes improve their ball handling, shooting, footwork, finishing, passing, defense, and decision-making in a competitive environment.

As players progress and demonstrate readiness, they may be placed on one of our developmental or competitive teams if team participation is part of their goals.

Small-group training is the key pathway into the Power Up team program.

Developmental and Competitive Teams

Our developmental and competitive teams provide prepared players with structured practices, experienced coaching, and opportunities to compete in leagues, tournaments, and local shootouts.

Players learn offensive and defensive concepts, teamwork, communication, accountability, and how to compete the right way.

Team placement is based on each player’s development, readiness, age, team needs, and interest in competitive play.

Girls Basketball Training

Our girls basketball training program provides a positive and competitive environment where athletes can improve their fundamentals, confidence, conditioning, and understanding of the game.

Players begin with small-group training and may progress to team opportunities as they develop and demonstrate readiness.

Building Complete Players

Successful basketball players need more than physical ability. Our coaches emphasize:
We teach players how to compete, respond to adversity, support their teammates, and take responsibility for their development.

Coaches Who Teach the Game

Our coaching staff brings experience from high school, college, and competitive basketball programs. More importantly, our coaches are committed to teaching young athletes with patience, structure, energy, and attention to detail.
Every player deserves meaningful instruction and an opportunity to improve.
